महामृत्युंजय मंत्र || Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra
The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra also known as the Rudra Mantra or Tryambakam Mantra, is a verse of the Rigveda It is addressed to Tryambaka, “The Three-eyed One”, an epithet of Rudra who is identified with Shiva.
Hindus believe the mantra is beneficial for mental, emotional, and physical health and consider it a moksha mantra which bestows longevity and immortality.
It is chanted while smearing vibhuti over various parts of the body and utilized in japa (mantra repetition) or homa (religious offering ceremony).

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिंम् पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ।।

Meaning of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra:
The meaning of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is as follows:
“O three-eyed Lord, One who can see everything that what others cannot see. Hey, god of gods, I invite you to come and bless me with good vasanas. And when my final time comes to depart this world (The time of death), I would want to leave my body without any hesitations of leaving worldly attachments.”
Significance of the Mrityunjaya Mantra:
The Maha Mrityunjaya is a very powerful mantra and sacred mantra. Being a very sacred mantra, it cannot be chanted anytime. ‘Mrityunjaya’ means “victory over the death”. This has a very specific significance. This mantra is used for a person, who wants to remove the fear of untimely death and overcome other forms of physical suffering. In such cases, it is very powerful and useful.
हीं अकाल मृत्यु (असमय मौत) का डर भी दूर होता है। शिवपुराण के अनुसार, इस मंत्र के जप से मनुष्य की सभी बाधाएं और परेशानियां खत्म हो जाती हैं। महामृत्युंजय मंत्र का जप करने से मांगलिक दोष, नाड़ी दोष, कालसर्प दोष, भूत-प्रेत दोष, रोग, दुःस्वप्न, गर्भनाश, संतानबाधा कई दोषों का नाश होता है।
